Breast Reduction Surgery is a Common Procedure February 26, 2015
Breast reduction or reduction mammaplasty is a surgical process to reduce the size of the breast. This is done by removing excess fat, skin, and glandular tissue. Men also have this procedure performed if they suffer from gynecomasia or enlarged male breasts. Most insurance companies don’t consider this cosmetic surgery and will cover the costs.
Enlarged breasts cause a variety of physical health issues such as severe pain of the head, neck, back, and shoulders. Poor blood circulation, difficulty in breathing, and rashes or rubbing result from brassiere straps or the breasts themselves. The sufferer feels self conscious about their appearance and embarrassed when in the public. Breast reduction surgery is a good choice for those who are healthy, have realistic expectations for the results, non-smokers, and whose physical activity has been limited due to their breast size.
There are different breast reduction methods used depending on the size of the breasts prior to the surgery. The vertical scar technique offers shorter scarring and is better for smaller reductions. The horizontal scar technique provides a smaller scar for those who are too large for the vertical scar technique. Liposuction is for patients whose breasts are not quite as large or who are anesthesia risks. This offers the least scarring and healing time. Free nipple graft is for high risk patients such as diabetics, smokers, or those with longer breasts. This procedure completely removes and relocates the nipple and surrounding area.
The resulting lighter, smaller breasts are more in proportion with the body and eliminate the pain and physical limitations endured previously. The patient no longer feels self conscious about their appearance.
When deciding to have breast reduction surgery performed, the patient should have this done for themselves and not for someone else. It is important to choose the right plastic surgeon so that the surgery will be a success and meet or exceed the patient’s expectations. Well-qualified surgeons decrease the chances of complications, infection, and scarring that could occur from the inexperienced doctor. When choosing the right plastic surgeon, price should not be the main concern. Questions should be asked during the consultation such as if the surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the years of experience performing this procedure. Patients also have the right to view before and after photos of previous surgeries and check for any malpractice suits.

What is Beauty
Beauty can imply a lot of different connotations depending upon whom you ask or talk to. We all know that it’s what is on the inside that counts, but that doesn’t mean that you should neglect your outsides. Take some time to pamper yourself and look your best using the tips below.
Before using any kind of eyelash glue around your eyes, test it on the inside of your arm twenty-four hours before you are planning to apply it to your eyes. This is the best way to test for allergies and can help you avoid having your eyes swell shut from an allergic reaction.
If you have discovered that the hair around you face is drying out and breaking off, you could be using hot irons or other heating tools too much. You could try an intense conditioner or create your own by adding two teaspoons of olive oil to the conditioner, and let it sit on the hairline for five minutes, and then rinse. Repeat this once a week. Continue reading about how a plastic surgeon like http://www.drshermak.com/ can help with your outward beauty.
If one likes wearing accessories when they are getting ready to go out for the day then getting a piercing can be appealing. However if one is concerned about enhancing their beauty then they should think carefully about where they want their piercing. Having too many piercings or piercings in weird places can scare people away.
A great way to accentuate the upper lash line and not create an overly spidery fringe is to apply a strip of the false lashes that are used for your lower lashes. Apply from corner to corner and because they are shorter than usual falsies, they will thicken the lash line and not cause excessive elongation.
As you grow older according to http://www.drjohnbitner.com/, your skin, as a result of sun exposure, becomes darker and is not as light and bright as it was when you were younger. To ensure that your skin remains as bright and lively as possible, make sure that you exfoliate on a regular basis. Exfoliation will lighten your skin by getting rid of dead skin cells.
If you have discovered little white bumps under your eyes, know that these are called Milia and are quite common. They are a harmless form of a cyst caused by dry, dead cells being trapped under the skin. You can try exfoliation or use a moisturizer that includes an exfoliant with vitamin A to help them disappear, and prevent them in the future.
After waxing any part of your skin, it is important that you do not take a hot bath or shower right away. This can cause irritation because waxing leaves your pores wide open. Try waiting at least an hour before being exposed to any type of hot water at all.
It’s true that inner beauty should triumph in terms of what “real” beauty is. That said, you still have an outer beauty that can always be refined and bettered. You can always improve upon your outer beauty to match the inner beauty that you already have, and hopefully these tips gave you advice on how to do that.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOUR LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE November 6, 2014
There are several definitions for liposuction but they all point out to one thing – the removal of unwanted excess fat by suction with the use of specialized surgical equipment and it is usually performed by plastic surgeons.
Liposuction helps to improve and enhance the body appearance with most patients actually undergoing the procedure to look more attractive. Liposuction also helps to even out distorted body parts. Common areas worked on during a liposuction procedure are the buttocks, breasts, the face area, and the abdomen.
Most people undergo liposuction for cosmetic reasons with the intention of eradicating love handles, abnormal chin line, fat bulges, among others.
Liposuction can also be used to enhance sexual function as it can be employed in the reduction of fat deposits on the inner thighs. This allows for easier access to the vagina.
Some people also undergo liposuction in order to get the desired body shape that seems impossible to be achieved with exercise and diets.
It should be noted that liposuction should be considered a cure for obesity.
The process of undergoing a liposuction procedure goes beyond just entering the surgeon’s office and seeking a procedure. There are some criteria to be met and some steps to be taken by people wanting a liposuction. In no particular order, here is a list of criteria to be met and some basic steps to ensure you do not regret ever visiting that plastic surgeon.
The first step is a preliminary consultation which should include a history of the patient, psychological and comprehensive physical examination. This helps to ensure the patient is physically and mentally prepared for the procedure.
A second consultation should be made to enable the patient have enough time to think the planned liposuction surgery over before making a decision. If married, the patient might be required to come along with his or her spouse during the consultation.
As a patient, questions about liposuction should be asked and the reasons for the consultation should be clearly stated. The questions should be answered to the patient’s satisfaction before deciding on whether or not to undergo the procedure.
Asking these questions and getting satisfactory responses ensures the patient is fully aware and understands every step of the procedure and what they entail.
Another point to be noted by patients is that as much as liposuction enhances the body appearance and helps to build self-confidence, it will be almost impossible to have a perfect body irrespective of the surgeon or the cost involved.
Some of the risks involved in liposuction include fluid imbalance, infections, drug reactions, skin death, swelling, and a host of others. Liposuction is a great way of improving one’s appearance but proper caution should be taken before going under the knife.
Breast Reconstruction November 4, 2014
Many people will already have heard of breast reconstruction surgery but for those that have not a brief description is needed. Breast reconstruction is a type of surgery almost exclusively for women whom have had a breast removed or partially removed. Advances in medical techniques have rendered this a very viable option. The surgery’s aim is to recreate the breast mound in such a fashion that it is the same shape and size as the patient’s former breast or breasts. The entire breast can be reconstituted in such a way that is very convincing; both the nipple and darkened area of skin around it, known as the areola, can be very accurate reproduced as well.
The most common reason for women to have part or all of one or both of their breasts removed (a procedure that is known medically as a mastectomy) is usually due to the patient involved having breast cancer. The portion of breast removed will be in tandem to the amount of cancer that the patient currently has in the body. Thus, if the cancer is discovered very early on and is as yet quite small, only a portion of the breast will be removed – however if it has greatly spread throughout the breast the entire breast may need to be taken out. Mastectomy’s may also be performed on those whom have a very high risk of breast cancer or for females whom are undergoing transgender operations.
When one is about to undergo the procedure for a mastectomy the patient will be put under a general anesthetic. The patient will then fall completely asleep and the plastic surgeons can go about their work without the fear of causing pain in the patient. Then the surgeons will begin to perform the actual removal; there are several different variants and the type used depends on many different factors. They are: Subcutaneous Mastectomy, Total Mastectomy, Modified Radical Mastectomy and Radical Mastectomy. The first type, or subcutaneous removal process is used on patients that need to have the entire breast removed. However, the nipples and dark area around them is left. Next, the Total Mastectomy removes the entire breast, including the nipple, down to the muscle and is generally the procedure used when removing both breasts. A Modded radical procedure entails that the entire breast be removed as well as the lymph nods underneath the arms of the patient if they have been infected. Lastly, there is the radical mastectomy procedure which entails that the patient’s skin covering the breast is removed but not the breast itself, the lymph nods will also be taken out. This is least common type of breast reconstruction procedure. All of the above procedures entails many risks and can not be performed on everyone.

TUMMY TUCK SURGERY October 30, 2014
Tummy tuck surgery or abdominoplasty is a plastic surgery aimed at flattening the abdominal area by removing excess fat and skin. The procedure is usually recommended for those struggling with excess fat around the abdominal area and cannot enhance the look of the abdominal area through dieting and exercise.
There are basically two types of tummy tuck surgery namely the mini tummy tuck and the full tummy tuck.
A full tummy tuck is a procedure done on the whole abdominal area while a mini tummy tuck surgical procedure deals with the lower abdominal area. Tummy tuck surgeries are usually done under general anesthesia. Before undergoing any tummy tuck surgery, patients should be fully aware of the risks and possible complications involved.
A tummy tuck surgery might go as far as creating a new belly button if necessary. The abdominal skin is pulled and adjusted and in some cases, some skin has to be removed to reduce or totally eliminate stretch marks. The surgeon makes an incision near the pelvic bone, and in the case of a full tummy tuck, an additional incision is made near the belly button. This is followed by the surgeon removing some fat and skin in order to flatten the tummy.
Depending on how complex the procedure its, a tummy tuck surgery is completed between 1 to 5 hours. The patient can either stay in a hospital for recovery or leave shortly after the surgery if no special caution or observation is needed. The patient should follow all care instructions after the surgery to avoid getting infected and complications.
A tummy tuck surgery patient is expected to fully recover from the procedure in about four week with the recovery dependent on the patient’s overall health and physical state, and of course, the extent of the surgery.
The result of a tummy tuck surgery for most patients is long lasting but patients should be wary of gaining weight or even losing weight as this can affect the results. Weight gain or loss can adversely affect the result of a tummy tuck surgery.
All things being equal, a tummy tuck surgery will help correct your body when other efforts fail you. Not everybody can however have a tummy tuck procedure done on them. People with the tendency of losing weight in the future and women that can become pregnant in the future are usually advised to stay of tummy tuck surgeries.
Tummy tuck not only helps to improve appearance, it also breathes some confidence into the successful patients. If all your efforts in getting a flatter stomach are yet to yield any reasonable result, you might want to try tummy tuck surgery.

TMJ TREATMENT October 24, 2014
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder or TMJ as it is popularly known is a term generally used for jaw joint discomfort, pain, and inflammation. It can cause extreme pain to the affected patient and can go as far as disrupting the daily life of the patient in very extreme cases. An untreated case can result in immobility of the jaw which can disrupt eating, speaking and facial movements. The symptoms of TMJ are pretty obvious. Discomfort, pain, lack of mobility in the jaw, ear pain, headaches, and swelling of the side of the face are the some of the common symptoms of TMJ.
TMJ cuts across several different medical disciplines like oral care, neurology, and general medical care. As a result, it can be difficult to pin down a specific diagnosis and patients sometimes feel they are not getting the answer or the right TMJ treatment.
There are various causes of TMJ and determining the specific cause of a particular case by the doctor requires him to uncover what is really going on. The cause of TMJ ranges from teeth grinding to dental procedures and genetics.
There are different treatments of TMJ and with the proper form of treatment; patients can get back to their normal daily life in no time. The form of treatment to be used depends on the cause of the TMJ. A serious case of TMJ resulting from a bad dental work or deterioration of the jaw bones can be treated with restorative surgery. This helps relieve the pain and correct the situation. For simple causes like teeth grinding, there are devices that will help stop the habit and restore the jaw joints to its healthy position. These devices are usually worn at night and can be very effective in treating TMJ.
The first point of call for the treatment of TMJ is pain management. This helps to reduce the extent of the pain and aids in increasing mobility while the search for the cause and treatment of the TMJ symptoms is on.
When treating TMJ on a long-term basis, the treatment of the cause with a pain management and mobility plan is employed. This might involve going under the surgical knives or other procedures depending on the results of the test done by the doctor and the dental care provider.
It is very important to notify your dentist immediately the symptoms are noticed. This helps hasten the recovery process and gets you back to your normal life very fast.
Candidate For A Tummy Tuck October 9, 2014
A tummy tuck is a type of plastic surgery that removes extra skin and fat. It also helps restore separated or weakened muscles. A tummy tuck will leave the stomach smooth and firm. A flat, toned stomach is something that most people desire to have. However, surgery, weight fluctuations, aging and pregnancy can cause the abdomen to sag and protrude. Some people cannot achieve a flat stomach with diet and exercise. That is why they opt to get a tummy tuck.
Who Is A Good Candidate For A Tummy Tuck?
The ideal candidate for a tummy tuck is a healthy person who has realistic expectations. People who are interested in getting this procedure should also be a stable weight. Even though the results of a tummy tuck can be permanent, weight fluctuations can diminish the results of this procedure. That is why people who are planning to lose weight in the future should not get a tummy tuck. Women who are planning a future pregnancy should also not get a tummy tuck.
Furthermore, it is important to remember that a tummy tuck is not intended to replace an exercise and healthy eating program. A tummy tuck is not intended to treat stretch marks, but the stretch marks may be removed if they are located on the skin that is being excised.
Possible Risks And Complications
The vast majority of patients who undergo a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty do not have any complications. However, it does not come without risks. Some of the possible tummy tuck risks include fluid accumulation, poor wound healing, blood clots, skin loss, bleeding and infection. There is also the chance of having an allergic reaction to the anesthesia.
The risks of this tummy tuck surgery procedure will be discussed in great detail during a consultation. Surgeons have to determine whether the risks of this procedure will outweigh the possible risks.
In most cases, tummy tucks are performed under general anesthesia. This means that people will need to have someone to drive them home after their procedure has been completed. Several days of bed rest are typically required. The sutures will most likely be removed one or two weeks after the procedure during the follow-up visit. The purpose of the follow-up visit is to ensure that the patient is recovering properly.
It is normal to experience pain after the procedure, but it can be controlled with painkillers. The plastic surgeon may prescribe an antibiotic because this will help reduce the risk of infection. Swelling, which is one of the most common side effects of surgery, can last for three months to six months after surgery.
In order to ensure that the recovery process goes smoothly, patients need to make sure that they follow the instructions outlined by their physician. This includes things such as getting plenty of rest, following a healthy diet and gently massaging the abdominal area in order to increase blood circulation. Furthermore, some medications may need to be discontinued until after one has recovered.
Going to the dentist October 8, 2014
I have to be honest. I havent gone to the dentist in awhile. But do I really need to? The last time I went which was about a year ago.. it was the first time in 8 years. Do I have nasty teeth? No.. I actually have never had a cavity in my life. I grew up in California where they include Flouride in the water and I have to think that helped.
Am I a fanatic about brushing and flossing? No I do it at night and in the morning and rarely do I floss. I just hate going to the dentist. I take care of my teeth and feel that I will go if something is wrong.. plus I dont have health insurance that covers dental.. I consider it a waste.
So I happen to be talking about this with my sister who is a dental hygienist and she said its just a good idea to go simply because if there is something major its best to catch it before it gets really bad.. did I agree with her.. kind of… seems like its just a way to get people in alot and charge and charge and charge..
Anyways.. I should probably go see a dentist more often just to make sure I am considering >Patrick Fields DDS a dentist in Cabot AR. Seems like a nice guy not old.. and not old school where they want you to keep coming in. Ill give it a shot. If you are wondering how do you find the best dentist.. just go to the internet and look for a reputable site like ada.org -that will help.
Tooth Whitening Services October 7, 2014
Tooth whitening according to Chase M Baker DDS can be a very imperative especially if your teeth have seen better days. Rather than wait for a dentist to check your teeth out every once in a while, you should get in a routine to make things a lot easier and keep your teeth healthier.
It’s always great to create home remedies to help improve the quality of your teeth. A bit of peroxide definitely helps because it’s genuinely safe to use. If you want to do some simple tooth whitening, some good whitening strips are very effective. Check the instructions to see how long to keep them on and make sure they go well with your teeth. They have a bit of peroxide base that stay on your teeth so it helps the cleaning process last longer.
Another thing you can do is drink less things can leave a stain in your teeth. Sugary fruit juices, dark tea, red wine, and coffee can leave permanent stains on your teeth. No matter what type of cleaning you use it seems as if it won’t totally come out.
You can also use baking soda and lemon juice to clean the teeth. Don’t overdo it because it can affect the enamel. I try to use it once a week for a bit. Adding a bit of fresh lemons squeezed with some baking soda and some water will help create a paste you can put on your teeth. It’s smart to rinse out after 2 minutes to prevent the acid from damaging the enamel. Use this method sparingly because it’s effective yet produces harsh effects.
Another great method to help your teeth is using coconut oil. While it won’t bleach your teeth like a peroxide or baking soda method or teeth whitening product like the ones used on this page http://www.thehoustondentist.com/cosmetic-services/, it does help relieve your teeth of plaque and helps kill bacteria. Additionally, you’ll find that the coconut oil helps keep your breath very fresh. It’s a great natural ointment to help the overall state of your teeth.
Use these home remedies to help with the overall state of your teeth, not just whitening. Use some tactics more frequently and others a bit more sparingly.
Taking Care of Your Oral Health October 3, 2014
TAKING CARE OF YOUR TEETH
We all need to take care of our teeth according to Gary Alhedef DDS. I learned that the hard way, along time ago. Back then, I felt like I didn’t need to pay close attention to my teeth. If I brushed on a daily and used mouthwash, everything would be fine. I found out differently.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I went in and found out that I had a few cavities. This explained why my mouth became so sensitive. It was bleeding all the time. Well, not all the time, but a good portion of the time. I’m sure many of you can relate to the pain I felt.
I got the necessary treatment I need and learned a few things at the same time. I am passing this information on to you my dear readers.
1) Always brush twice a day. I don’t care if you are tired and cranky at night. Brush your teeth. You don’t realize how much dirt and foot particles can build up in the mouth. The particles like to lie between the teeth. You need to get at them.
2) Floss your mouth. Try to do this about once a day. I sometimes do it only once every other day. Try to avoid this. I am still learning on this one. Even if your mouth seems fine and not sensitive at all, still floss.
3) Use mouthwash after flossing. Use it once a day or every other day. Don’t over use it. I have done this before and it made the situation worse. Mouthwash is only there to clean the extra spaces that are left behind. It’s not meant to be a substitute for brushing or flossing.
4) Most toothpaste already has the necessary ingredients, like fluoride, already in there. Don’t buy a toothpaste which has the extra fluoride listed. Fluoride is good, but too much is bad. Too much will ruin your teeth. Any dentist will tell you that.
5) If you can, try and visit a dentist regularly. The normal recommendation is every six months. If you can’t afford that, do it when you have the money.
6) Try to avoid the teeth whitening strips. Your teeth are supposed to have a very vague yellowish color to them. That’s normal. This really bright color is not.
These are just a few of my recommendations. I hope these suggestions helped some of you out.

Liposuction August 22, 2014
Weight loss is a vital necessity for many patients who want to feel better about themselves. However, many times, weight loss through conventional means is either too time consuming or just not possible (particularly in morbid obesity cases). Liposuction is the go to procedure in such cases. This surgery has greatly evolved in comparison to what it used to be even 5 years ago. Laser assisted liposuction now helps in dissolving the fat layer before a small cannula is inserted under the skin to suck out the liquefied fat. This gives a much less traumatic post surgery experience to the patient. In addition, there are no scars or bruising as an after effect of the surgery.
It is important note that liposuction is not performed for the purpose of breast enhancement. The only proven method for substantially increasing breast size and reshaping breasts is breast augmentation.
